Epson Connect Printer Setup questions & answers

The name "Epson" comes from the similar names, "Epsom", which is a company name of a logo containing a capital town of Surrey, England, the country of United Kingdom.

I don't think you need the Epson Connect feature if the laptop is in the same network as the printer. Simply share the printer to be available locally and it's a WiFi printer, then even better. Use the OSD to connect it to the WiFi network and the laptop should see it automatically, but if it doesn't go to Control Panel > Hardware and Devices> Add a printer. Windows should find it automatically.

Also, register for an account on the following page and add your printer, then you can manage it from web without even touching it.

According to the Support OS PDF file, it appears there is no driver available for the Ubuntu 12.04 OS and generally for Linux operating system. If you download the PDF file and search for the product model that you have, then you'll see that Linux/Ubuntu isn't supported for a wide number of devices.

To print from your tablet, simply install Epson iPrint and then configure the printer to connect it to local WiFi network. Once both devices are connected, you will be able to print from the tablet through Epson iPrint. If you have an iOS based device, download the application through the App Store.

There is a PDF file called Network Guide. In the file all possible connection modes for this device are described. I recommend downloading the PDF file to learn how to configure the WF-2510 device to the network using wireless technology.

In order to use your printer on a Windows 8 computer, first you need to download and install the appropriate driver. You can chek the following official website, select your OS and download the latest driver available.

The contacts can be set up using the PC-FAC Contacts button in the main interface of the startup software. This means you will have to install the full package for the Epson product before you can access the software. Access the official website and download the full driver package. After its installation, download the user guide (PDF format) which explains where and how to set up the contacts. The required information is found at page 187.

Make sure that the cartridges for the printer are exactly of the required model. Alternatively, you might need to reset the printer. To do this, press Power/Reset for 10-15 seconds.

After that select to test print a page from the Epson Utility to see exactly what is working and what is not.

You can change the printer's email address from the temporary one, but there are some limitations. As you will see on the page linked below, the @ can't be used in the address name and some characters are permitted.

You cannot copy the email address and paste it in the box.
The following restrictions apply when entering an email address.

• You must enter more than 6 characters and less than 32 characters.
• You can only use alphanumeric characters and single-character symbols (!#$%&i*+-/=?^_`{│}i.). You can use upper-case and lower-case characters.
• You cannot use “@”.

No, you shouldn't remove the USB cable since that is the primary way of the communication between the PC and the printer. You will not be able to issue print commands without the USB cable.
